John FitzPatrick has been helping individuals, small business owners and professionals since 1987 by developing, implementing and monitoring their financial and personal goals. Recognizing that core competency and continuing education are keys to success, John became both a Certified Financial Planner and an Enrolled Agent in 1993.
Prior to establishing his own practice, John spent 11 years in manufacturing and engineering working for Fortune 5 corporations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Most of his earlier career was spent in project management for the engineering and construction of capital projects around the world. His concentration was in setting budgets and schedules for projects in the planning phase and then overseeing the financial controls in the implementation stage.
John graduated with high distinction from WPI in Worcester, MA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He and his wife Ginny have remained very active alumni and were recently recognized at their reunion with distinguished service awards. John went on to earn his MBA in finance at Rutgers in Newark. He is a Registered Representative of Avantax Investment ServicesSM, and a Registered Investment Advisor Reperesentative of Avantax Advisory ServicesSM. He currently holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 investment licenses as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses in New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania and Washington.
John's other affiliations include membership in the Financial Planning Association, National Association of Enrolled Agents, Society of Certified Senior Advisors, and National Association of Tax Professionals.
John is married and has three adult children and five grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoors all year round including golfing, downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing and fishing. He spent 12 years as an adult leader in Boy Scouts. Currently he is very active in his church, particularly in youth ministry activities, Appalachia Outreach and various adult ministries.
